Soumik is  a Chartered Accountant having around 17 years of industry experience. He is currently the chief enterprise officer in a logistics start up. Prior to this venture, he was working with Amazon for 5 years across different functions in the areas of finance, operations, and customer experience. 

Coming from a Chartered Accountancy background his start was conventional. He worked as an article-clerk and later as an associate with a mid-size CA firm (SBA Associates) in Kolkata. He then moved into equity research with CMIE and Goldman Sachs. Soumik’s interest in number crunching made him to shift into business finance and planning domains with Reliance, Titan, and Macmillan Publishers. At Macmillan, he became the General Manager IT Governance & Project Management steering business application implementation, business process re-engineering. 

Soumik also completed Chartered Accountancy from Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), post which he moved to Dubai to lead finance for a luxury fashion department store (Bloomingdales, Al Tayer Group) having a turnover of around $190 million. He came back to India in 2015 and joined Amazon.

Soumik is also passionate about teaching and is currently pursuing executive PhD at IIM Ranchi to keep a continuity in academics. He also completed executive management from IIM Bangalore in July 2020, and is an alumnus of the Institute. He has facilitated sessions at other Institutions like CMS (Jain University Bangalore), NMIMS (Bangalore), and IIM (Sirmaur) in the areas of finance, management accounting.
