Dr. Smitha Jose Panackal, is currently working as a Senior Assistant Professor in Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Kochi. She pursued her PhD, in Management from School of Business Management and Legal Studies (Formerly IMK), University of Kerala. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Kerala (TKM Institute of Management). She has also cleared UGC-NET in 2005.

She has 17 years of teaching experience. She has published and presented research papers in National and International conferences. Her doctoral thesis was titled “Information and Market Valuation – A Study on Linkages with Special Reference to BSEMIDCAP”.
