Dr. Soundravalli holds a Fellow in Management, an AICTE-approved doctoral-level
qualification. She earned her undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Queen Mary’s
College, Chennai, and an MBA in Operations and Finance from Bharathiar University,
Coimbatore. She also holds a professional certification in Supply Chain Analytics from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
With over 21 years of corporate experience, she has led sustainable operations and supply
chain functions for international brands such as Oilily BV (The Netherlands) and GANT AB
(Sweden), and has served as Business Head for garment manufacturing facilities. Her
expertise spans vendor sourcing, product development, production planning and control,
logistics, upstream supply chain management, and total quality management embedded with
Lean and Six Sigma principles. She has worked closely with designers and buying teams
across Europe and the United States and has played a key role in establishing standard
operating procedures for social compliance, quality assurance, and production systems. Her
professional strengths include client development and servicing, contract management,
costing and negotiation, vendor and product sourcing, and leading product development
operations across India and the Far East for global apparel markets. She has conducted
workshops for fashion and textile professionals on Sustainable Business and Fair Trade,
Environmental and Social Compliance, Design Thinking, Strategic Sourcing and
Negotiation, and Total Quality Assurance.
In addition to her industry career, she brings nine years of academic experience, teaching
MBA and Executive MBA programs across business schools in Bangalore. She has
published peer-reviewed research articles in the areas of apparel sustainability and
circularity. Her academic interests include Strategic Operations Management, Strategic and
Sustainable Supply Chain Management, International Business, Retail Management,
Operations Research and Optimization, Sustainable and Circular Business Models, and
Supply Chain Design. Her teaching philosophy integrates industry practice with analytical
rigor and sustainability-driven strategic thinking.
