EMPRESARIO, the official ENTREPRENEURSHIP club of XIME, Bengaluru has long been on the forefront of varied activities to promote entrepreneurship among the students at large in the campus. With multiple events being organised all-round the year at regular intervals, the Club significantly contributes to the vibrant campus life with the proactive participation of the students’ community. Apart from facilitating one-on-one dialogue with the trending faces of Indian entrepreneurial community, EMPRESARIO spares no efforts to bring international luminaries in the evolving field of start-up ventures to share their thoughts and entrepreneurial experiences. The prime objective of the Club is to involve the students in a meaningful way so as to make them think, innovate, develop and act differently rather than just being a domain-centric knowledge seeker. All these happen within an informal and recreational environment that can make anyone comfortable to pursue his/her passion and zeal with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.
The Club has already set the ball rolling just before the start of the current academic year with the successful conduct of a webinar cum online interactive session with Mr Anubhav Dubey, the Cofounder and CEO of Chai Sutta Bar on 7th July 2022. Taking a cue from the positive feedback received from the participants in the said webinar, the Club organised the 2nd Talk Show cum interactive session with another successful start-up entrepreneur Mr Bhupinder Madaan , the Founder and CEO of THEKA Coffee on 19th July 2022 which was again a hit among the students, particularly the freshers. Now, the Club is all set with the finalisation of its annual calendar of events for the academic year with the approval of XIME authorities that includes a host of activities viz. monthly Talk Shows with young business leaders in the field of start-up initiatives and also serial entrepreneurs, a Business Plan competition among the students to be followed by Alumni Entrepreneurship Day during Sept. ’22, EMPORIO BAZAAR – a MINI FEST to be organised during December 22 in association with existing core and non-core clubs .
As XIME, Bengaluru is planning to revamp the existing Incubation Centre that was a bit inactive during the COVID time, EMPRESARIO is looking forward to make the best use of the available facilities and resources therein by roping in entrepreneurial talents, both from students’ community and outside the campus. Like every year, the Club is going to get associated with the annual SME Excellence Award Ceremony this year too. Incidentally, this event is one of its kind organised under the aegis of XIME, Bangalore in collaboration with the Bengaluru Chamber of Commerce (BCIC), wherein SMEs in and around Bengaluru region get shortlisted based on certain criteria. A group of students along with a faculty guide visit every industry physically wherein the students get practical exposure to understand and appreciate the processes involved in the evaluation methodology.
EMPRESARIO is in the process of reaching out to a few incubation centres in the city including NSRICL Incubation Centre at IIM, Bengaluru just to understand the operational mechanism and also learn the process management in their efficient functioning. In the coming years, EMPRESARIO expects to get a global coverage by collaborating with the The Hungry lab, LA, Callifornia, USA while aiming to deliver some of the most valuable enterprises which can help the society solve bigger problems.
