Brief Profile

Joshin John is a Fellow of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow with specialization in Operations Management. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum, University of Kerala. He started his career as Design Engineer in Marine & Ship Design Division of Larsen & Toubro Ltd., and has about 10 years of experience in the industry, academics, consulting & research. Dr. John is currently working as Assistant Professor at Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship, Kochi. Earlier, he was a faculty at Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies, Kochi and visiting professor at FORE School of Management, New Delhi. He has been associated with professional bodies such as Production & Operations Management Society, Society of Operations Management (India), and Institute of Marine Engineers (India). In recent years, he has published journal articles and case-studies with international publishing houses such as International Journal of Strategic Decision Sciences (IGI Global), Harvard Business Publishing/ Ivey Publishing, Marine Engineers Review, Independent Journal of Management & Production and Udyog Pragati - Journal for Practicing Managers (NITIE). He has also worked as an engineering /operations consultant for marine, shipbuilding, yacht manufacturing & upstream oil & gas industry, executing projects for industry majors such as Shelf Drilling/ Transocean, Heerema Marine Contractors, ConocoPhillips, and Henderson International. Dr. John’s current research interests include Humanitarian Logistics & Supply Chain Agility, System Dynamics of Maritime Circular Economies, New Product Development & Innovation for Startups, and Process Excellence in MSME manufacturing firms.
