XIME Kochi is coming up as a challenging sibling to its 26-year old Big Sister, XIME Bangalore. This is evident from its achievements during the short span of five years of its existence. Some of the major students’ achievements are mentioned below:

Josh Talks 2017, held in association with Facebook, was hosted by XIME Kochi with a view to enlighten and inspire future entrepreneurs and young minds. The event was introduced by Mr. Rajat Arora, policy program manager at Facebook, India.
All Kerala Maria Philip Debate Competition
All Kerala Maria Philip Memorial Debate is an annual event organized and conducted with great enthusiasm to promote the debating skills of college students of Kerala and to develop them as great speakers having potential to influence the society. It is organized every year in memory of Maria Philip, daughter of the Principal Founder and President of XIME, who was a born leader and a great speaker. This year also the competition was organized at two levels: Zonal Level and Finals. There were three zonal level competitions and the first three teams in each zone competed at the Finals along with the XIME Kochi team, which was eligible only for the Best Speaker Award and not for the Overall Trophy for the Best Debating Team.
The North Zone Prelims of All Kerala Maria Philip Memorial Debate Competition, 2017, were conducted at Farook Institute of Management on 13th September 2017. A total of 15 Teams registered for the debate.
The winners of North Zone debate were:
1st Position: Chinmaya Arts & Science for Women, Kannur
2nd Position: Providence College, Calicut
3rd Position: School of Management Studies, NIT Calicut
The South Zone Prelims were conducted at Assumption College, Changanassery on 14th of September, 2017. A total of 16 Teams registered for the debate.
The winners of the South Zone debate were:
1st Position: Assumption College, Changanasserry
2nd Position: Kuriakose Gregorious college, Pampady
3rd Position: College of Engineering, Chengannur
The Central Zone Prelims were conducted at Bharata Mata College, Thrikkakara on 19th of September, 2017. A total of 16 Teams registered for the debate.
The winners of the Central Zone debate were:
1st Position: Christ College, Irinjalakuda
2nd Position: Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology, Kakkanad
3rd Position: Sacred Heart College, Thevara
The finals of the “All Kerala Maria Philip Memorial Debate Competition, 2017”, the most prestigious event of XIME was conducted on 26/09/2017 at Hotel Asset Summit Suites, Kalamassery. Mr. Sebastian Paul, former MP and senior advocate of the High court of Kerala was the chief guest for the event. Like its previous editions, this year also there was participation from all the zonal winners along with the home team. Nine teams competed with each other for the winning trophy. Ms. Lida Jacob IAS (Retd.), Mr. M. P. Jospeh IAS (Retd.), Ms. Mini Monesh (Group HR Head of Eastern Group) and Mr. S. Bindish (Circle Head- Kerala, Axis Bank) were the judges for the finals. Ms. Lida Jacob chaired the panel of the judges. After the debate, our beloved President Prof. J Philip and the judges pointed out in their speeches that, with each passing year the quality of the participants taking part in this prestigious event is going up and that they are delighted to see the kind of response that this event is gaining from different parts of Kerala.
For the judges, it was a tough call to decide the winners. After much discussion, finally Ms. Divya Devassy and Ms. Alphy Tom of Christ College, Irinjalakuda were selected as the winners. They received the cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and the rolling trophy from the chief guest, Mr. Sebastian Paul.
Ms. Priya Alphonsa Mathew and Ms. Minna Jose of Sacred Heart College, Thevara were selected as the first runners up and they received the cash prize of Rs. 20,000.
Ms. Minna Jose of Sacred Heart College, Thevara was selected as the Best Speaker and received the cash prize of Rs. 15,000.
Quest 2017 the management fest of XIME was officially kicked off with the Dean Academics, Dr. T.V. Francy inaugurating the event in the presence of the XIME student fraternity and the participants from other colleges. Quest 2017 saw a first of its kind participation levels with a total of 240 students representing 22 different colleges across India. Quest 2017 was a combination of management events, in the areas of Marketing, Finance, HR &Operations, along with Best Manager, Business Quiz, CSR Event and Entrepreneurship event. These were accompanied by Spot dance, Gaming and 5’s football, all spanning over a 2-day period of 20-21 October 2017. Day 1 ended with DJ.
The valedictory function was presided over by Ms. Eesha Priya IAS, Asst. collector, Ernakulam, in the presence of Dr. Manoj Varghese, Director, XIME Kochi and Dr. T.V. Francy, Dean Academics. Prizes were distributed and Christ University, Bangalore bagged the overall championship of Quest 2017, beating 21 other colleges. The curtain for Quest 2017 fell with the cultural night that was organized for the students in the evening.
