One year Post Graduate Programme in Construction Management (PGPCM)

PGPCM is a unique AICTE-approved course offered by XIME to develop committed and competent techno managers with the potential to manage construction business / projects in India and abroad. With four batches that have passed out already, the fifth batch is currently doing the course.

The duration of the programme is 12 months, divided into four terms of 12 weeks each. The 1st, 2nd and 4th terms are for classroom sessions and construction site visits aimed at intensive learning and acquiring necessary knowledge, skills and perspective to enable the students to shape up as competent techno-managers. The students will spend their third term in internship programmes with one of the leading project management firms or construction companies.

THE OBJECTIVE
  • Sound knowledge of theory and practice of corporate management.
  • Proficiency in information technology, finance and people management skills.Use of Project Management Software.
  • Indepth knowledge of construction business and the economic environment of the industry.
  • Proficiency in various aspects of funding, resource mobilization and capital structure of major construction projects.
  • Facility to apply knowledge and skills and effective delivery of projects and functional tasks.
THE CURRICULLUM
  • Students have to take 23 courses in three terms.
  • Continuous assessment through case studies, assignments, periodic tests and seminars.
  • Use of Project Management Software.
  • Communication Skills as a separate course and Project Management Techniques give the students intense learning experience.
  • Guest lectures on various specializations by eminent professionals
  • "On the job Training” during internship.
  • Considerable emphasis on group work, group assignments and discussions
  • Students are enabled to gain knowledge and skills to manage information technology in a networked enterprise.
