Visit of Bryant University Team to XIME

The team comprising Prof V K Unni, VP, Academic Affairs and Prof Dr Madan Annavarjula , Associate Professor, Department of Management, Bryant University visited XIME on 19th August 2011. The team met with the President Prof J Philip, Director Dr Panduranga Rao and Prof C P Ravindranathan to explore possibilities of inter institute collaboration in terms of faculty and student exchange programmes, specific teaching assignments and Campus Abroad initiatives. The specifics of the exchange programme with Bryant University was finalized upon visit of their President and Dean to XIME, Bangalore. The visiting team was presented with books and literature on XIME and the visit concluded with a lunch hosted for the team.

XIME - Campus Abroad Programme of Akron University, USA

XIME, Bangalore, hosted the team of students from Akron University, USA for their Campus Abroad Programme from 31st July to 8th August 2011. The visiting team was welcomed by the President of XIME, Prof J Philip at the XIME Lawns. The Campus Abroad Programme offered a wide spectrum of modules including those on Indian culture and management styles, the rise and growth of Bangalore as India's IT capital, an understanding of the Indian education scenario, Growth and challenges in Indian IT & BPO sectors, HR trends, challenges around managing Intellectual Property, and nuances of working with business partners in India, among others. Another highlight of the programme was the Industry visits which were highly appreciated by the participants, including visit to the Infosys campus, Mysore and that to Narayana Hrudayalaya where the team also had the opportunity to interact with Dr Devi Shetty. The participants were exposed to different topics such as Business Environment in India, Social and cultural aspects of business and the growth of Indian IT industry. The visiting team also had an informal interactions with the XIME students, including a panel discussion on "US and the rise of India and China". Overall it was an excellent learning experience with significant takeaways for the visiting team.
